Ready or Not
Ready or Not support covers .pak mods, .mp4 movie replacements, and scalar Engine.ini
presets on Windows Steam. Browse Nexus Mods after signing in
and choose an archive download, or drop a local archive or correctly named .pak file into Modrex.
Pak files install into ReadyOrNot/Content/Paks with their
original filenames, following the mod author’s instructions.

| Pak mods | ReadyOrNot/Content/Paks | Installs .pak files with their original filenames. The shared folder contains game files that Modrex protects. Mod.io-managed files are excluded. |
Choosing files
Section titled “Choosing files”Some archives offer alternative gameplay profiles. Select the variant the author tells you
to use. A single .pak may contain several maps and is still installed as one file.
Loose .pak downloads from Nexus need manual preparation. Download the file, give it the exact
filename required by the author, then drop it into Modrex.
Archives that require DLLs, UE4SS scripts, audio banks, Input.ini, or multi-file configuration
changes need manual installation. Modrex refuses those packages before installing their files.
Movie replacements
Section titled “Movie replacements”Movie replacements install into ReadyOrNot/Content/Movies. Modrex reviews H.264 MP4 files,
with optional AAC LC audio, and lets you choose the existing game movie each file replaces.
Use the author’s instructions to select ReadyOrNot_StartupMovie.mp4, RoNLogo.mp4, or another
offered destination. Short, silent videos are supported. Empty files and requests to delete a
movie are not movie replacements.
Turning a replacement off restores the bytes captured before Modrex applied it. If a movie was already modified manually, that manual version is the saved previous setup. An identical file is left unchanged without creating a restoration copy.
Configuration presets
Section titled “Configuration presets”The active configuration folder is %LOCALAPPDATA%/ReadyOrNot/Saved/Config/Windows.
An Engine.ini preset is reviewed as individual scalar settings, preserving unrelated settings
and repeated game paths. Choose one alternative preset from an archive, following the author.
Some authors require Engine.ini to be Read-only. Clear that attribute in Windows file
properties before applying, updating, enabling, disabling, or removing a preset. Reapply it afterward
when the author’s instructions require it. Modrex leaves that attribute under your control.
Open Engine.ini or GameUserSettings.ini from the game’s Settings > Advanced tab.
Opening GameUserSettings.ini is an editor shortcut. It does not install multi-file graphics
packs, input bindings, or other INI files.
Existing mods and game files
Section titled “Existing mods and game files”The Paks folder also contains the game’s own files. Modrex protects those files and excludes mods managed by mod.io. Existing manual Pak mods appear in the installed list and can be managed without reinstalling them.
Modrex preserves author filenames and does not rename files to change their load order.
Launch without mods
Section titled “Launch without mods”This action uses the game’s Safe Mode for Pak mods and leaves the shared Paks folder in place. Movie replacements and INI settings remain applied. It does not disable manually installed DLLs or scripts.
